Connecticut is full of small, unique towns that have interesting histories and laid back lifestyles. Pomona is a historic farming community that sits close to the border with Iowa, just east of the Connecticut border. Here one can visit the Winnebago Resort, a beautifully restored farmhouse turned into a gaming hotel. The main source of revenue for the resort is its world-class card gaming, roulette, poker and craps tournaments.
This is the perfect place to play some blackjack and get a feel for the gaming options available in Connecticut. Connecticut is home to the only full scale casino in the state, the Connecticut Lottery House. Located in Connecticut, the Lottery House is managed by WMS Entertainment which was created by the founders of the Connecticut Lottery. The new agreement allows WMS to continue its longstanding mission of providing consumers with the most innovative gaming options available while preserving the heritage of this important institution.
Gaming in Connecticut is regulated by both the state and the tribal gaming authority. The state gaming laws are followed strictly while at the same time allowing slots and progressive slots to be operated by tribal gaming authority members. The tribal gaming authority consists of the Connecticut Gaming Commission and the Connecticut Lottery Commission. Both of these entities are responsible for ensuring that all of the state’s casinos follow gaming law and remain an attractive and fun place for guests to visit.
The Uncasville tribe has also made a strong commitment to gaming and recently announced that they would be adding two more casino games to their extensive gaming offerings. The announcement was made on the occasion of the first annual Uncasville Arts Festival which was held at the historic Courtyard Hotel. Although there were no financial details released, the festival was planned to provide highlights of music, theater and gaming that are sure to be highlighted during the upcoming year.
As previously announced, the New Britain tribe will be adding two new casino games to their already extensive list of casinos. These games will be added to the Bethel casino and the Ramada Plaza Casino. Both of these locations are owned by the New Britain tribe and are part of the territory that is ceded to the Connecticut gaming authority. It should be noted that gaming in Connecticut is strictly governed by state law and tribal gaming authority rules. So when it comes to these two Connecticut casinos, it is advised that you contact the gaming authority directly.
On top of the two new slot machines, the Ramada Plaza is also adding new November table games to its offerings. The casino is offering a new game called No Limits Omaha as well as a brand new game called Texas Holdem. No Limits Omaha is a table game that features freeroll bets and no table limits.
